the prettiest song about racism feat. 66notes x BenOaks

66notes expresses his daily struggle with racism and responds to Jesse William’s inspiring speech at the 2016 BET Awards.

Lush, classic boombap music by BenOaks.

66notes and Benjamin Oaks (The Numinous) have been making music together for over 10 years now- even though they have never met in person. They are both members of the international music & arts collective Bones Culture.

“Empathy” – 66notes x BenOaks

66notes x BenOaks “Empathy” #lofi #Beastcoast #boombap #hiphop

66notes drops mad knowledge with lyrical finesse on a classic lofi, Beastcoast, cello & strings driven, boombap beat by BenOaks -(sounds like DJ Premier of Gang Starr + RZA of the Wu-tang Clan)

“Never Come Down”

“Let’s get high, and never come down” words sung so emotionally by multi-talented artist 66notes. At the end of this song 66notes asks, “You ever want to fly away? Far far away, and escape this reality?” The reality that he speaks of is the constant turmoil pertaining to racism/discrimination/prejudice that has continuously destroyed not only this nation, but the whole world. It is because of this reason, he along with so many others like him would like to get higher than the clouds, and never come down. 66notes is a humanitarian and advocate for social equality, ‘Never Come Down’ is one of many of 66notes’ songs that points out the negative attributes associated with the various forms of hate in our world. He hopes by producing more and more songs with these types of messages, that it will spark much needed awareness to deal with these growing issues.

the latest triphop from The Numinous feat. 66notes

I’m excited to share two new acoustic based triphop tracks from The Numinous – a triphop / electrosoul / grime / urban electronica / alternative hiphop / PBR&B music project (and production team) from artist/songwriter/rapper/singer/producer 66notes & I. This project also features midwest songbird Devy Dev Dev & rapper/producer Daytym fka LDK fka Lawrence Day-Knightly.

The 2 new songs, ‘The End is Here’ and ‘Neighborhood DBoy’, sound like they’d fit in right along the debut album by The Numinous Chapter Zero.

The soundscape returns to an atmospheric, drone acoustic guitar & piano based instrumental. Unlike the powerful, epic heavy synth based grime (trap + grime + crunk + EDM + electronica + detroit techno) sounding work of the past year from 66notes and I’s ALLiWANT sessions and similar bass heavy work from my upcoming BASSisOurWeapon solo LP.

And there is also an actual b-side with similar sounding synths from the ‘Chapter Zero’ (song) instrumental sessions with V1TAL & V!CE called ‘Beyond the Frame’ which was previously unreleased.

We’ve got some more news from The Numinous

Before we let you go, checkout this new track from Devy Dev Dev & Daytym produced by yours true.
